Anxiety is an acute reaction to intense stress, it is the most common psychiatric condition in the United States.

Anxiety disorders may require medication and therapy but learning to manage stress can help so it doesn't ovewhelm you.

Here are some tips to cope, ease and prevent it:

Cut all caffeine

Make routine exercise art of your daily life

Learn relaxation techniques, breathing, yoga, meditation

Set a time to relax twice a day, one before going to bed

Avoid conversations related to the cause(s), external and internal

Occupy yourself, stay busy, boredom feeds anxiety

Eat healthy

Find a trusted listener, talk about your worries with someone you trust

Learn to fully live the moment, no one can predict the future

Everybody worries, it is only a problem when it overwhelms you

Ask yourself if your thoughts or worries are helpful to you

Give worries a schedule, a set time during the day, no more than 45 minutes, this is the only
time when you will think about them

Learn to distinguish actual facts from worries, worries are just possibilities

If worries are not facts, just 'ifs', or negative thoughts, learn to eliminate them from your mind

Ponder all the possible outcomes and assign a percentage to the possibility of your worries
actually happening

Have goals, undust your dreams, go for it!

Seek inspiration for your life

Learn to let go of thoughts, to control your thoughts, learn to let go of your worries, worries by
themselves don't change the outcome for the better, actions do

Be true to you, to your word, work on your promises, to yourself and others

Don't ignore it, feel it, experience it, acknowledge it, it will ease in no more than 45 minutes

Don't stay at home, don't stay in bed, get out, get moving, take a long brisk walk, get fresh air

Find something or someone that will make you laugh

Get busy, go and do something you like

Apply your learned relaxation techniques

Listen to lovely music

Switch from worry to an action plan

Reason your anxiety, filter it through your reasonable self, analyze it

Write, write, write!

Write a list of the consequences of your worries, the worst that can happen, see yourself there,
as the worst scenario, and accept it as a possibility but that is the worst, then think on all the
other options that can also happen above your worst scenario

Write your feelings, the outcome possibilities, your attributes, ways you can contribute to
change your situation, think on actions you can take about your worries, plan if you can do
something about it

Put your worries in perspective of the consequences in your life, don't sweat the small stuff

If there's nothing you can do about your worry learn to let it go

Remember your strengths, you've beaten this in the past

Be positive, stay positive

Unknown does not have to be bad, remember all your unknowns in the past that turned out fine

Forget the past, reset your life, you can't go to the future, all you have is this moment, then the
next, make the best of it

Ask Yourself:

Am I thinking only in black an white? Most of life happens in the gray areas

Am I jumping to conclusions?

Am I dismissing the possible positive outcomes?

Are these feelings grounded in actual facts or just possibilities?

Am I diminishing the effect or power that I have to affect the outcome?

Am I focusing too much just on the bad?

Am I being too critical of myself?

Am I thinking that I can't?

Am I just concentrating on the bad?

Switch

Get positive

And what if I can?

I've accomplish all these ...

I'm capable

I can do it

It can also be alright

Seek help, professional if you can, you will not regret it
